Everyone Go See 'Inside Job' with Matt Damon!!
For any of you who, like me, have a conservative brother, an uninformed friend please urge them to go see 'Inside Job'. This movie lays out in the plainest and simplest terms the corruption behind the collapse of the economy. There are things in this movie I had never heard of, although a daily follower of liberal/progressive blogs and radio. The problem is, good luck finding it at a theater near you. It has been out since October and only in 'select' theaters. The best bet is to buy it when it comes out and give it out as gifts or suggest it to anyone/everyone. Please spread the word!!!

F'ing Hypocrisy as Usual!!
Republicans Block U.S. Health Aid for 9/11 Workers
OK so let's get this straight, Dems were un-American because we didn't want to spend billions on unnecessary wars (occupations!) and because we wanted to allow an Islamic Cultural Center 2 blocks from Ground Zero....but they think it is patriotic to deny human beings who risked their lives for others and are now dying because of it??!! What makes the 9/11 rescuers and volunteers any different from our troops fighting overseas.....oh yeah, Republicans don't want to spend money to care for them when they return either.
FYI.....7.4 Billion is 2 days in Iraq or Afghanistan!!!!

In honor of 'It's Time to Talk Day'....
My close friend finally left her abusive police officer husband with her 3 children last Christmas. They have been living in cramped quarters with a woman from church ever since, awaiting their day in court. She was hoping they would remove her husband from the house and return her and her 3 children to their home but no such luck. She is fine with that but feels this is why so many women DO NOT LEAVE. She met, got pregnant with and married him in high school, and he did everything in his power since then to prevent her from working or going to school including sabotaging her car, burning her school books and stealing her clothes and shoes. Since she left, she has somehow found the wherewithall to go to school, pick up odd jobs where possible and raise 3 of the most wonderful children I've ever met. While all he does is continue to disallow her from moving in the house unless he can live in the basement! She was hoping that the court would at the very least give her children the opportunity to live in there home for the next year as it would only be fair that he has lived there for the past year, but no such luck. It's such a shame that the message she is getting from all of this is that there is nowhere to turn.
